Our group environment project is focused on creating a medieval village that functions in a game engine. We have divided the workload equally between us, i am modelling a house, pub and market stall, along with small props such as rocks, trees and pottery. I am currently ready to texture all the assets. Below is a quick sketch of the proposed village along with the three structures i have modeled.

So the deadline was today for my character project. I'm pretty pleased with how it all went. Although i'm far from where I want to be in terms of modelling quality and texturing, I feel this work is a dam sight better than what I was creating last year. Now onto the environment...

Our current university project involves creating a low poly character that could be used within a game. We were given a limit of 5,000 tri's. I designed a Gothic medieval warrior. I have modeled the character and am in the process of texturing. I think iv'e been a little ambitious with the design as i have given the character lots of armor and extra clothing, this is going to make it a nightmare to rig and texture well, but we learn from mistakes i guess. Fingers crossed the texturing process wont let me down.

How do you start a blog?

A bit about me i guess. I'm Matt, i'm 21 and I study Game Art at the University of South Wales. The course involves the use of 2D and 3D digital software to create art for use in video games. My main focus is on concept art/design work, i love drawing characters and environments and spend a lot of time developing my drawing skills.

This blog will be where i post the art i create, it will mostly be made up of digital paintings and 3D models but i'm sure some different things will crop up now and again.

I'll start with a few examples of quick sketches i have done. Expect plenty more to follow...
